Manager – Public Relations and External Communications

Our client, an empowering organization globally for the underprivileged, is seeking a strong, autonomous, detail-oriented person to act as Manager, Executive Communications to join the Head Office team. The incumbent will report directly into the Director of Communications, overseeing the day-to-day communications of the executive and other stakeholders’ communication needs.

Location:  Downtown Toronto

Salary: 50k – 55k

Responsibilities:

  • Help to build and support the external and internal communications as an ambassador of the organization’s brand
  • Provide leadership and set priorities around executive communication with a strong focus on correspondence needs, stakeholder engagement and support on special projects
  • Adhere to the rapid responses and turn-around of correspondence and effectively reach challenging deadlines
  • Assisting with follow up from meetings, actualizing and supporting projects through various departments of the organization
  • Flexible writing to adjust voice when corresponding with schools, youth, and corporate stakeholders alike, effectively following organizational key messaging
  • Maintain the CRM database (Salesforce) to ensure stakeholder relationships and communications are updated, tracked and monitored throughout the year
  • Collaborate with the organization’s various departments
  • Responsible for creating and disseminating special invitations to stakeholders around special events
  • Responsible for driving priorities related to the above activities, performing regular check ins and ensuring that deadlines and priorities are met within the department
  • Special projects include but are not limited to: PowerPoint presentations, proposals, pitch decks, special events, organizational campaigns, seasonal gifting, and other initiatives on an ongoing basis

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant professional experience related to executive communication, project management and stakeholder engagement
  • Strong project management and internal process-building skills
  • Strong skills in interpersonal communication – both written and oral
  • Excellent relationship building and relationship management
  • Attention to detail, and high-level of accountability for the quality and timely completion of projects
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to time-manage and multi-task in a demanding and fast-paced work environment
  • Positive and professional attitude, ability to work as a team player, flexible and adaptable working style to accommodate changing priorities
  • Experience in or interest in creative writing
  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree, diploma or certificate
  • Oral and written skills in French considered an asset
