 Requirements

  • Completed post-secondary education, preferably a university degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or related field.
  • 8 – 12 years’ experience creating and implementing internal and external communications campaigns
  • Thorough knowledge of brand and reputation management, creative agency experience and/or success in managing creative agencies
  • Public sector experience, either from a government, not for profit or agency account management perspective
  • Demonstrated success in drafting briefs and executing plans.
  • Superior writing, editing and presentation skills.
  • Strong judgment, critical thinking skills and natural curiosity.
  • Confidence in presenting to and advising senior leaders.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to build trust relationships, gather and synthesize input, and build consensus.
  • Able to be hands-on as well as strategic.
  • A team player with an orientation to lead by example, with accountability for his/her/their actions.
  • Agility and able to manage change into an opportunity for growth

Functions:

  • Build and enhance the organization’s reputation by implementing the Brand Manager’s strategic deliverables
  • Manage a multi-year brand refresh project.
  • Develop and execute earned and paid media plans including brand, education and awareness campaigns and other communications initiatives.
  • Build the brand among staff, the community, businesses, municipal and provincial government officials.
  • Identify and assess trends from a public relations POV and advise on potential impact to the organization’s reputation and programs.
  • Ensure internal communication is provided in a consistent and effective manner, working with employee communications and corporate communications teammates.
  • Develop and deliver brand and promotional messages on a regular basis.
  • Collaborate with the media relations team to extend our reach through news media
  • Champion brand standards and help to ensure all internal and external communications align with requirements with a focus on coaching and support

Remote 98% – Location Pickering

Compensation $100 – 120k plus benefits
